Allows Pennsylvanians to Check Status of Property Tax/Rent
Rebates
Eligible older adults and residents with disabilities can now check
the status of Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications online at

537 Plan - Well Water Sampling
East Hanover
Township is in the process of updating its Act 537 Plan. One of the
requirements for the plan is well water sampling. This sampling is
done free of charge to the resident and you will be provided with a
copy of the results. Your results will also be kept confidential.

Commission Vacancy
At the April 7th meeting, the Board of
Supervisors accepted Donna Lebo's resignation from the Planning
Commission. This leaves a vacancy on the Planning
Commission. Anyone interested in serving should submit a
letter of interest to the Board of Supervisors.

Waste Rate Increase Announcement
The following is the disposal
rate for the Harrisburg Incinerator: The final rate
increase for the incinerator is $1.58 per ton. As a result
of this, there will be an increase in the residents'
quarterly bill by $0.55 per quarter.

Waste & Recycling Collector - Penn Waste
Effective July 2, 2008, Waste Management will no
longer be East Hanover Township’s waste/recycle hauler. The
contract was due to expire July 1st and the contract
was put out to bid. Penn Waste came in as the low bidder at
$54.17 per quarter. Residents on the Tag-A-Bag program will now
pay $3.50 per bag. If you have any yellow tags left, please
return them to the Municipal Building for a refund. You cannot
use these tags for Penn Waste. Pick-up days will remain the
same and all services remain the same. The toll free contact
number for Penn Waste is 1-866-575-8720. You should have
received a brochure from Penn Waste, if not, please visit our

IMPORTANT NOTICE
A new Ordinance amending the 2003
Subdivision/Land Development Ordinance was approved by the Township
Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. This Ordinance
changes the timeline for submission of plans to the Township from 14
days to 21 days. Also, a new Application for Consideration of
Subdivision and/or Land Development Plan has been approved.
